Self-care is essential for everyone

Outdated thinking:  Taking time for self-care is selfish.

Healing mindset:  I can help others better when I've taken time for me.

While it may feel selfish, consider the bigger picture  How long can you keep giving until you become so depleted that your health is impacted leaving you less able to help others.

Outdated thinking:  I don't have time to eat healthy -- anything will do.

Healing mindset:  Good choices support my whole-being.

On quiet days, it might be simple to plan a meal and snacks that healthy.  But when life gets busy and stress is high, good choices often are replaced with a sense of urgency and a need for comfort; yet, making good, health-supporting choices don't need to be difficult.  It is the food that nourishes us that provides the best support to make it through the day.

Outdated thinkng:  I am too tired to excercise.  Besides, it's not  a priority.

Healing mindset:  I will create Small habits that will keep me strong mentally, physically, and emotionally.

You probably are (literally) running from one thing to the next, and think that a any exercise routine seems like too much for little reward at this moment in time.  While it's an easy choice for the back burner, you could instead find movements that support your mind, body, and spirit without requiring a huge outlay of mental and physical demand.

Outdated Thinking:  Nobody can imagine what I'm going through - I feel alone.

Healing Mindset:  there are people that understand what I'm going through, will listen, and provide support.

As a primary support for someone else you may feel overlooked and not understood.  Loved ones may offer advice they think is helpful, but it might not be the right match.  Maybe you wish for space to uncover answers that are right for you and voice concerns and fears free of judgement.  Finding even one person that offers empathy, a willingness to listen, and an curiosity to support your needs may be the best answer around.

Outdated Thinking:  It all rests on me.

Healing Mindset:  letting others support me is not a sign of failure.

You might feel that you need to keep on top of all the responsibilities that people lean on you for WHILE taking on all these new and uncertain demands.  You might even fear that if you let some of the other things go that people might think of you as "less than".  But you are so much more, and others who see it want to be able to give to you in ways that you support others.

Wellbeing encompasses the whole of you.

The whole is greater than

the sum of the parts.

When health comes up, most often the focus is on the physical state of being.  In reality, though,  just as the systems of one's body do not operate in silos -- the circulatory system impacts the heart and liver, the digestive system impacts immunity -- neither do the systems associated with holistic health.  The mind and spirit work in tandem with the body to impact a person's overall sense of health and wellbeing. â€‹

Factors such as lifestyle choices, quality of relationships, living with purpose, nourishing environment, and peace of mind all play a role in whole-person health and wellbeing.

The thing is, finding balance across these aspects of life is the key to living a life that nourishes your whole being, and that nourishment is what will lead you towards a deeper and fuller way of being.
